At What Cost? ​is a fake organization fabricated as a public service announcement in order to poke fun at smart technologies that have been integrated into our society, as well as generate awareness of the data these machines and corporations are collecting from us throughout their use. To do so, I have branded an organization that mimics prominent technology conglomerates, such as google and facebook, and created a website and video that mocks the traditional advertisements in a way that makes the viewer consider how and why their data is consumed. This project is meant to push the user and make them aware of how we interact and use technology in contemporary culture, as well as encourage individuals to educate themselves on the costs of data mining. Are you comfortable with how much data these companies are taking from you? And at what cost?
